Accessibility Statement
How Hearth works toward digital accessibility for all neighbors.
Effective June 13, 2026 · Version 2026-06-13
1. Our commitment
Hearthmade ("Hearth") is committed to ensuring the Hearth platform is accessible to neighbors with disabilities.
California's Unruh Civil Rights Act and related laws treat many online services as places of public accommodation. We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA over time across our web and mobile experiences.
2. Accessibility measures
- Semantic HTML and ARIA labels on core navigation, forms, and checkout flows.
- Keyboard focus styles and skip links on primary pages.
- Color contrast aligned with Hearth design tokens for text and interactive controls.
- Screen-reader labels on map sheets, basket actions, and order status where supported.
- Ongoing review of signup, checkout, and studio management flows.
3. Known limitations
Map discovery relies on third-party map tiles (Google Maps Platform). Some map interactions may not be fully accessible depending on your assistive technology and browser.
We are actively improving keyboard access to map category filters and artisan detail sheets. If a feature blocks you, please contact us (Section 5).
4. Third-party content
Artisan photos, stories, and listing text are uploaded by independent sellers. Hearth does not control the accessibility of user-generated images or PDF permit uploads.
5. Request accommodations or report barriers
If you have difficulty using any part of Hearth, or need an accommodation, contact us:
Email: hello@hearthmade.app
Subject line: "Accessibility Request"
Please include the page or feature, your device and browser (or app version), and the assistive technology you use if applicable. We will work with you to provide the information or functionality you need.
